Since 1993, we’ve been hand-pouring candles right here in the mountain village of Blowing Rock, North Carolina. What started as a small family-run shop has grown into a beloved local tradition — a place where the smell of warm vanilla, fir needles, and cinnamon spice greets you the moment you walk in the door.
At High Country Candles, every candle is made with care, one pitcher at a time. We blend richly hued wax, clean-burning fragrance oils, and mountain inspiration into each jar, pillar, votive, and carved candle we create. Whether it’s your first visit or your fiftieth, we want you to feel like you’ve stepped into a Hallmark movie — cozy, inviting, and just a little magical.
Our shop is a favorite stop for visitors chasing fall leaves, winter snowflakes, and summertime sunshine. Locals and longtime customers know us for our signature seasonal scents, friendly team, and the kind of service you only find in a place that truly loves what they do.
